Hi, I'm Cheryl Erickson

Basic Training 1981 (2).jpg

Cheryl was born on Long Island NY and raised in Colorado. Growing up on a country farm in Colorado, Cheryl learned the meaning of hard work. Getting up at the crack of dawn to tend to the farm animals and her younger siblings before school each day. She was active in sports, playing on the Jr. Varsity Basketball team and then on to Varsity Softball and Volleyball. Cheryl is a dreamer and as a child wanted to help as many as she could after graduating from Fountain Ft. Carson High School in 1981, Cheryl joined the US. Army, where she received training as a Combat Photographer and Video TV Production Coordinator. Her commendations include the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.

In January of 1983, she married the love of her life, Scott Erickson, at Ft. Lewis, WA, and gave birth to her son Scott Jr. in 1986.

After her military service, Cheryl attended College for Fire Science/Paramedic and has a distinguished career as a Firefighter Intermediate Paramedic. She obtained an Associates Degree in Fire Science Paramedic and achieved 6 clinical saves. Cheryl was awarded Firefighter of the Year in 1997. She played an instrumental role in her son's time in the Boy Scouts as she was an Asst. Scoutmaster and merit badge Counselor for First Aid, Firemanship and CPR. During her time as an Assistant Scoutmaster she obtained the distinguished Order of the Arrow. In 2009 she became an advocate for Pitbulls and Animal Rescue.

Cheryl Erickson has spent her career serving her country with the US. Army and her community as a veteran Firefighter Intermediate Paramedic, and now she’s running to be your voice as your Governor.

She lives in Caseyville (St. Louis area of Illinois) with her husband, Scott, their children Scott Jr. and Caitlin, and their 4 rescues, Loki, Morgan, Athena and Sandie

Cheryl's Plan for Illinois

Fight for Veterans
Right now we have 70,000 veterans living on the street and they deserve jobs, not the illegal immigrants. As your Governor, Cheryl Erickson will fight and crack down on illegal immigration. She will support federally mandated laws to crack down on businesses profiting from illegal workers there by putting the veterans in jobs they deserve.
As the next Governor of Illinois, Cheryl will honor the sacrifices made by brave men and women, stand up for their rights and freedoms as they stood up for ours. She will fight to enhance the lives of Veterans and military families. We must always be a grateful nation to our veterans who have protected our freedoms.

Law Enforcement
While the left chooses to allow crime and criminals to terrorize our communities and our citizens, crime in our cities such as Chicago has surged dangerously out of control. This is unacceptable and as Governor she will fight for Law Enforcement and refund the Police rather than defund the police. She'll stand by the men and women in blue who protect us. She will ensure comprehensive training, and anti-riot legislation that will increase penalties for the violent criminals and crime in our streets.

Pro 2nd Amendment
Cheryl Erickson is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and believes it is really your right to self-defense. One of the most important freedoms under any government, despite how popular or unpopular it may be, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. The right of self defense is the first law of nature. Cheryl is a proud supporter of the Second Amendment and is a lawful gun owner and she believes in holding "criminals responsible", not law abiding citizens.

Lowering taxes

Illinois has the highest cumulative taxes in the nation and with the out of control property taxes good people are leaving Illinois because they struggle to provide for their families and make a living. Property taxes are up to 300% higher than the average of all other states with taxes higher than even the mortgages. The middle class, blue collar hard working families barely have enough to move forward and provide for their families. As Governor, Cheryl Erickson will rejuvenate and restore Illinois by cutting taxes and bringing jobs back to Illinois to make it a safe and prosperous way of life for our children and grandchildren.
